I don't exactly know how this dish actually got its name. We had an elderly british couple as neighbours by that name when I was growing up. I think my mom gave it that name to identify it and I am sure that the McCulloghs would have been mighty proud to have had that honour. These potatoes should be served on special occasions.
1 kg baby potatoes , scrubbed
salt and turmeric
oil for deep frying
Score the potatoes with a fork and rub in the salt and turmeric. Heat the oil and fry the potatoes on a low flame for a long time till they have a thick golden crust.
Serve with a meat gravy of your choice and chappatis.
