YELLOW DAL (VEGETARIAN)

200 GMS ARHAR OR TOOR DAL
2 ONIONS SLICED
5 GREEN CHILLIES CHOPPED
2 TOMATOES CHOPPED
1 TEASPOON CUMIN SEEDS
1 TEASPOON FINELY CHOPPED FRESH ROOT GINGER
1/2 TEASPOON TURMERIC POWDER
1 TEASPOON CORIANDER POWDER
1 LEVEL TEASPOON GARAM MASALA POWDER
SALT
2 TEASPOONS OIL

Wash the dal and soak for 15 minutes. Boil it for a half hour with the turmeric powder and salt.
TEMPERING
Heat the oil and fry the onions and the cumin seeds. Next add ginger,
coriander powder, tomatoes and green chillies. Lastly add the garam masala. Garnish with chopped coriander.

    Dal is loved by everyone. so many variations. we make dal almost everyday but without garam masala. I will definetly try your method. loved your blog
