FISH PATIA (A TRULY DELICIOUS PARSEE PREPARATION)

SALMON OR BEKTI PIECES, BUT SEER WILL DO JUST AS WELL(MARINATED IN GARLIC,CUMIN,CHILLI PASTE,1/2 TSP TURMERIC, 1/2 TSP CORIANDER POWDER, 1/2 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER, 1/2 TSP PEPPER, SALT, 1/2 A LIME, 1 TABLESPOON OIL..MIX TOGETHER AND APPLY ON THE FISH PIECES.
5 LARGE ONIONS SLICED FINELY
1/2 BUNCH SPRING ONIONS CHOPPED FINE
4 TOMATOES PUREED
1/2 TEASPOON TURMERIC
1/2 " CORIANDER POWDER
1/2 " CUMIN POWDER
1/2 " RED CHILLI POWDER
1/2 " GARAM MASALA POWDER
1 TABLESPOON JAGGERY
2 CUPS CORIANDER LEAVES CHOPPED FINE

This preparation does require you to be a little more generous with the oil. Fry the onion slices till lightly brown. Next add the chopped spring onions. Add the spices one by one and fry. Next add the tomato puree and cook. AS THIS COOKS FAST IN THE NEXT FIVE MINUTES ADD THE CHOPPED CORIANDER. Saute for another minute and add a glass of water. Add the jaggery.
You may either place the fish in the dish at this point and cook the fish in the gravy or you may lighly fry the fish and add to the gravy.

Serve with a moong dal khichdi and slices of lime and salad.
