IMMUNITY BOOSTING FOOD

Your body cannot fight its battle to protect you against illnesses, infections, etc if you do not nourish it well. Eating too few of the right nutrients can weaken your body and allow germs and disease to take control..........therefore a good diet is the most important way to stay well. THAT'S COMMON SENSE. But you'd be surprised how many chronic health problems start small and snowball into something more serious mainly because of a bad diet. While genetic and environmental factors may do their best to chip away at our immune functions.......much of the decline often seen with advancing age may be prevented with simple good nutrition.
Some people would simply say ---why bother when I can pop a pill supplement.
It is a fact that nutrients from food are better absorbed by the body than from pills. It is also possible to get too much of a certain immune booster when taking supplements which may work against you by suppressing your immunity.

Tomatoes
Tomatoes are loaded with lycopene and a rich supply of Vitamin C.
Lycopene is a powerful antioxidant which protects against cancer. Tomatoes are second only to carrots as a source of beta-carotene.
Broccoli
Broccoli is valued as the No.1 anti-cancer food by cancer institutes around the world. Broccoli is rich in disease fighting Vitamin C, it also contains sulforaphane (which is a phytochemical found in the cruciferous family of vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, bok choy, etc , etc), which is responsible for stimulating the body to produce enzymes which destroy carcinogens (substances responsible for cancers) and free radicals before they can attack healthy cells.
I could go on giving you more details but this should be enough to make you want to eat broccoli regularly. TRY MY BAKED BROCCOLI........ITS DOWNRIGHT YUMMY.
GARLIC
If you have been tardy in including this herb in your daily diet....its vitally important that you do so right away !!!!!!!

How much garlic do you need to eat to really harness its healing power...............if you are putting a little into everything you cook that should be about enough, but only the fresh garlic is best.
BLUEBERRIES
Blueberries should be eaten for 2 very important reasons : (1) they contain anthocyanins (from where blueberries get their stunning colour) which have potent immune stimulating properties. Capillaries (tiny blood vessels) are protected by them against damage. This promotes quick blood flow through the circulatory channels through which immune cells travel. (2) Blueberries also contain tannins which prevent E.coli from sticking to cells that line the urniary tract, where they may cause infection.
In fact, if you don't like blueberries.......try strawberries, raspberries, blackberries or any of the berry group. They all have cancer fighting properties.
