Light finger food is generally served either with drinks and cocktails or as a light dinner in which case the items are heavier and more in variety. Either which way they are well appreciated. Pates, spreads, dips, morsels of marinated meats, meatballs, cold cuts, vegetable crudites - all fall into into this category.

But the type I like best are served on little bits of bread with different toppings and either grilled or baked or simply assembled. Even wafer thin tarts filled with a variety of fillings make an interesting variety of finger food and they are so easy to bake ahead of a party. Keep small quantities of different fillings ready and fill up just before a party.
