MONOUNSATURATED FATS


Eat more nuts, olive oil and other foods rich in monounsaturated fats to help safeguard yourself from the threat of Type 2 diatetes. These should be eaten instead of  rather than in addition to foods that contain saturated fats. Try to eliminate/cut down saturated fats which are found in cakes, pastries and other processed snack foods. 
Research has shown that a diet rich in monounsaturated fat does help control blood sugar more effectively.
