FRENCH BEANS WITH CHICKEN

I AM VERY HAPPY TO HAVE A FORUM WHERE I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO INFORM A WIDE AUDIENCE ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF CERTAIN WAYS OF COOKING. 
THE BESTEST FOOD IN THE WORLD IS A DISH WHICH INCORPORATES A LOT OF VEGETABLES WITH A SMALL AMOUNT OF MEAT. IT SHOULD HAVE SPICES AS THEY ARE IMPORTANT IN AIDING DIGESTION AS WELL AS KEEPING YOUR RESPIRATORY TRACT FREE OF MUCUS, ETC. THIRDLY IT SHOULD CONTAIN WATER ADDED DURING THE COOKING PROCESS. EVEN SPICY FOOD CAN BE DIGESTED IF THERE IS WATER IN IT.

A LOT OF YOU WOULD SAY WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT THAT......THIS SOUNDS MORE LIKE A SOUP THAN A TASTY DISH. THE DISHES I WILL GIVE BELOW WILL 
PROVE THE POINT. I WILL KEEP ADDING MORE AND MORE SUCH DISHES FROM TIME TO TIME ON THIS PAGE.

FRENCH BEANS WITH CHICKEN 

1 KG FRENCH BEANS 
300 GMS OF CHICKEN PCS WITH BONE (OR 1 BREAST CUT SMALL)
3 ONIONS FINELY SLICED
1 BIG TOMATO DICED SMALL
2 TEASPOONS GINGER/GARLIC PASTE
1/2 TEASPOON CORIANDER POWDER
1 TEASPOON CUMIN SEEDS
1/2 TEASPOON RED CHILLI POWDER
1/4 TEASPOON GARAM MASALA POWDER
ONE INCH PC CINNAMON/ 5 CLOVES / 2 BIG CARDAMOM OR 5 SMALL
1 BAY LEAF
SALT AND OIL

In a non-stick pan pour in about 2 tablespoons of oil and heat lightly. Add the cinnamon, cloves and cardamom and bay leaf. Reserve a small quantity of onion and add the rest to the oil for frying. When lightly golden add the ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute or two. Add the chicken pieces and salt and allow to fry in the pan for a few minuters. Add cumin seeds, turmeric, , coriander powder and red chilli powder in that order letting each spice cook for 2 minutes before adding the next. This allows each spice to retain its individual flavour in the dish. Next add the chopped french beans and keep stirring. After five minutes add the balance onion and tomato and cover and cook for another five minutes. Add a full glass of water and mix. Sprinkle the garam masala powder and continue cooking. Keep stirring the dish from time to time and keep the flame low. It would be ready in about 15 more minutes or when most of the water has been absorbed. Serve with chappatis.

If using chicken breast add the chicken right at the end of cooking time just as for prawns .... given below in the next dish.

FRENCH BEANS WITH PRAWNS

the whole recipe and method would remain the same except you would need to use the garlic- cumin paste insead of ginger-garlic. Also the prawns should be added to the beans when almost done in the last five minutes of cooking.
