CHICKEN WITH ALPHONSO MANGOES(kada keri ma gos)



USING MUTTON WOULD MAKE THIS DISH TASTIER......BUT WITH SO MANY PEOPLE REALLY COUNTING THEIR CALORIES, A LIGHTER MEAT

IS VERY MUCH THE ORDER OF THE DAY. BUT WHO SAYS YOU MUST

SACRIFICE YOUR TASTE BUDS ALONG THE WAY ? no ways you say -

and I agree, so enjoy !

1 whole chicken cut into 8 big pieces

1 large onion chopped fine

approx 10 pearl onions deskinned and chopped in half
1 tomato chopped
1 1/2 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
2 whole red chillies,
2 sticks cinnamon , 5 cloves, 6 peppercorns and 2 big cardamoms
1/4 teaspoon turmeric ,
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
2 small alphonso mangoes
oil
salt

Fry the chopped onions till golden. Add the whole red chillies and whole spices. Add the ginger-garlic paste, the chicken/mutton and the powder masalas one at a time except
the garam masala. Add the chopped tomato and saute till the oil begins to separate.Add the mangoes and the pearl onions
and saute a little more.Add the garam masala powder, 2 cups water and cover and cook till meat is done or in a pressure
cooker.
