GINGER AND CINNAMON COOKIES

Just right for this season when the weather is cold. Make  small batches just when you want to eat them. 

100 gms caster sugar
100 gms butter
6 tbsp golden syrup or melted  jaggery
1 egg beaten
275 gms plain flour
2 teaspoons of soda bicarb
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon powdered cinnamon
5 tablespoons of water
pinch of salt
Roughly chopped almonds to decorate

Beat the fat and sugar till creamy and light. Mix and beat the egg , syrup and then the balance ingredients . Drop spoonfulls of the mixture onto a greased  tray and top with a few pieces of the almonds. Bake at Gas Mark 6 or 200 C. They will barely take 8/10 minutes to be done.
