DARK CHOCOLATE AND RED WINE

DARK CHOCOLATE & RED WINE
GOOD GUYS IN DISGUISE

When you add in small indulgences - healthy eating is more fun ! And there's great news in ths area as some treats that you'd never expect to find on a list of 'good foods' would actually benefit your health. So don't forgo a glass of wine with your meal or that tempting after-dinner chocolate.....cause I'll tell you what you would be missing out on.

RED WINE
Having a glass of red wine with dinner can help prevent heart disease. This is something that we have heard often and now its clear that light to moderate wine consumption offers even more benefits. Wine drinkers (rather than beer, hard liquor or no alcohol) have lower mortality rates than those who drink no wine at all. The flip must be noted too------- that though wine drinkers live longer ....those who drink large amounts faced a higher risk of death than moderate drinkers.

WHICH WINE IS BEST ???????????
Rsearch shows that one antioxidant in wine, namely resveratrol, is particularly protective and some wines have more of this compound that others.
A Pinot Noir contains twice as much as a Merlot, Cabernet Franc or Cabernet Sauvignon.

DARK CHOCOLATE
Chocolate contains some of the same disease fighting anti-oxidants as red wine, fruits and vegetables.50 gms of dark chocolate would give you the same protection as a 150 ml glass of cabernet. Tests on human blood found that some anti-oxidants found in chocolate not only suppressed cell-damaging chemicals but also boosted immune function.

Wow -----I love these researchers---they are my type of folks !!!!!!
