2 cups basmati rice
1 cup green peas
a few cloves/1 black cardamom/1 stick cinnamon
1/2 tsp peppercorns
1/2 tsp saffron
some almonds blanched and sliced, some walnuts chopped
12 strands of saffron
Wash and soak the rice for 2 hours. Warm the clarified butter and fry the dry fruits till a light golden. Remove and keep aside. Add all the garam masalas and in a couple of minutes the green peas. Add the rice and some of the saffron. Add four cups of water and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and cook till half done. Soak saffron in a little water and sprinkle over the dis while cooking.
Garnish with the fried dry fruits and serve.
